Latest Updates: July Edition Part 2 (Improvements to Splitting Orders, Purchase Order Settings,

This month, we have focused on providing additional options and enhancements to our existing features to further speed up the processing of your orders.

Here is the list of new features and service improvements that will be included in our latest release scheduled for 26/07/17 AM.

New features

Kit Products – Splitting Out of Stock Orders

We have revised the way that the splitting of kit products is handled in StoreFeeder.

There may be occasions where stock runs low on component products that form part of a kit. Depending on how you handle stock that is part of a kit or bundle, you may wish either to allow the products within a kit to be sold separately, or have StoreFeeder wait for the out of stock products to be replenished before the products can be sold again.

As such, we are now offering you a choice on how we handle the splitting of your orders containing kit products, depending on the ‘Display kit product on order?’ toggle on the ‘Additions and swaps’ tab on your product information.

When this toggle is set to ‘yes’, the kit product will always be displayed on any orders, not just the component parts of the kit product. This setting will not allow the kit products to be split into a new order if any or all of the component products are out of stock. The kit would have to be restocked before the component products could be split.

If you want to be able to split the kit to sell the component products separately, set the toggle to ‘no’.

Specify order numbers and channel references on ParcelForce labels

If you use ParcelForce, channel order reference numbers can now be added to your ParcelForce labels instead of the StoreFeeder order number.

Should you wish this feature to be activated on your account, please contact our support team.

Purchase Order Requisitions

When raising your purchase orders, there may be particular suppliers you only order from very occasionally, so to further speed up your order processing, we have added the option to exclude particular suppliers from the Purchase Order Requisitions feature.

There is a toggle on the ‘Products’>’Suppliers’>’Edit Supplier’ page, which will allow you to exclude a particular supplier by flicking the toggle to ‘Off’.

Advanced variant settings for Amazon listings

For some products, particularly items of clothing, we have added new fields for variant information you may require on your listings. If you sell clothing, for example, fields for variants such as such as Inseam length and Waist Size are now supported.

Knowledgebase: Advanced Variant Settings for Amazon Listings

Rest API Improvements

By request, you can now make updates to product suppliers (inventory, price, etc) using the supplier SKU and supplier ID.

For more information, see our API Documentation

Fulfilled By Amazon Order Notifications

So you never miss your high-priority orders, should a Fulfilled by Amazon order fail to create for any reason, email notifications will now be automatically sent to your account administrators.

Cost Price added to Packing Sizes

We have added a ‘Packaging Cost’ additional column in your Settings > Shipping configuration > Packaging Sizes. This is so the cost of your packaging can be taken into account when calculating your order costs and profits.

If you have any further suggestions or comments, please use our UserVoice service at:

Your suggestions and comments are of paramount importance to us, as many of our new features come directly from your requests. Our motto is ‘Sell more, work less,’ and so if there is a way we can offer an even better service for your business, we’re waiting to hear from you.

Keep an eye out for our next major release in August.

Latest Updates: July Edition (Reassign Pickers, Consolidated Picking, Bulk Shipping Method Update, Functionality Improvements)

July has been a busy month so far here at StoreFeeder. Here is the roundup of our newest updates including three significant new features, a host of general functionality improvements, and further enhancements to the capability of the rest API.

The updates below are scheduled for release on 12/07/17

New Features

Reassign orders to alternative pickers

For a variety of scenarios, it may be necessary to reassign orders in a pickwave to a different picker. There may be next day delivery items which require special attention, or a large pickwave may need splitting up for quicker completion.

You can now reassign orders from the ‘Edit Pickwave’ page. Use the check boxes to select the orders you require, and select the new picker from the drop down menu. If you select all orders, you will assign a new picker to the whole pickwave, and if you select some, those orders will be moved into a new pickwave.

Knowledgebase: Reassign Pickers.

Consolidated picking – Product images now included on picking/packing lists

Consolidated Picking is a time-saving feature that allows your orders to be split across totes ready for quicker and more efficient picking and packing. With this feature, you can choose to consolidate your picking by pickwave or individual orders.

With this feature activated, your packing lists will display a list of products needed, and their images, rather than a list of orders.

For more information on how to activate and operate this feature, see: Knowledgebase: Consolidated Picking in StoreFeeder

Knowledgebase: Adjusting your Stock Locations (Multi Stock Locations)

Bulk update shipping method

For sometimes unavoidable scenarios where you may miss one courier’s postage deadline, we have introduced the option to quickly reassign the orders to a different shipping service.

On the ‘Orders overview’ page, check the boxes by the orders that you have not yet marked as despatched, and select Alter shipping method from the drop down menu.

Knowledgebase: Bulk update shipping method

Quick despatch for pickwaves

We have added the option to perform a quick despatch for any of your pickwaves from the ‘Open Pickwaves’ page in addition to the ‘Overview’ page.

Log user details when orders are marked as despatched

By popular request, the user(s) who picked, packed, and despatched your products will be displayed on your edit order pages. Each order will have a designated picker and designated packer.

Fulfilled by Amazon orders

So that you do not miss your FBA orders, and so they are included in your reporting, we will now download in all of your FBA orders regardless of their order status.

eBay order import

For all new eBay integrations, we have reduced the age limit of eBay orders in ‘awaiting payment’ status that we import into StoreFeeder from 20 days, to 10 days. This is to prevent orders that have already been fully processed (before our new customers joined) us from importing into StoreFeeder.

Once the integration is over 10 days, we will revert back to our previous 20 day limit to ensure that orders with delayed payment (PayPal e-cheques for example) are picked up and imported.

eBay shipping methods

On the ‘shipping’ tab of your ebay listings pages, a priority field has been added so that your shipping methods reflect the order they are displayed in your ebay marketplace.

MOTO (Phone order entry) page

We have added the option to select and change Channel for phone orders, and have added an additional column for EAN bar-code numbers.

New Delivery exception order status

By request, we have added a Delivery exception order status, usable if for some reason your customer did not receive their package. This order status will automatically be assigned when returning the order for the reason ‘Not received’.

Scanned product barcodes

When using barcode picking, pickers can now scan the EAN, UPC, SKU, or any additional ‘product scanned barcode’ number and this will match to, and be stored alongside your product data.

Order Bulk Update

We have now alphabetised the order bulk update drop down box. Please ensure you choose the correct option, as they may not be in exactly the same place in the list as before.

ParcelForce labels – special order instructions

We now allow the use of all 4 special instruction fields for special order instructions.

If you have requested the option to display SKUs on labels, one or more of these fields will be taken by the SKUs, otherwise the special instructions will be spread across the 4 available fields.

Note that these fields have a 25 character limit.

Reports Enhancements

Despatched by Courier report

A column for Average weight of order has been added

Top Selling Parent Products report

A SoldLast60 Days column has been added, and we have made all of the SoldLastX Days columns optional. They are now hidden by default, but you can choose to display them using the filter icon.

Refunds Summary report

A Productscannedbarcode field has been added.

Rest API improvements

We have added several new functions to the rest API

  • Create and update products
  • Get, Create, update, and delete product categories
  • Get, create, update, delete Custom Attributes
  • Get packaging sizes
  • Adding currency code to the create orders endpoint

For more information, see our API Documentation

StoreFeeder Workshop Event – Have your say

We would like to invite you all to share in an exciting opportunity with us. In the last few years, our business and yours have grown exponentially together, and to further develop the relationship we have with our clients, we are planning to hold one or two workshop events in the coming months.

The purpose of these would be:

  • To give you an opportunity to meet some of our team
  • To participate in Q&A sessions
  • To demo our new features and to provide additional training on existing ones
  • To introduce prospective new clients to StoreFeeder
  • For us to better understand the needs of your businesses, and tailor the future development of StoreFeeder accordingly
  • To detail the roadmap for our future development

If you are interested, please take a few moments to answer some questions, and email your response to events@storefeeder.com.

  1. How many people from your company would you like to attend?
  2. How far would you be willing to travel? StoreFeeder is based in the Midlands, so is a location in the Midlands convenient for you, or would two smaller events in both the north and south be more ideal?
  3. Is there any particular training you would like to receive, or any further assistance we can offer?
  4. Are there any special requirements we should be aware of?

Please include any additional information or suggestions.

We ask that you respond as quickly as possible, as the earlier you register your interest, the higher your chance of securing a place at the event. We will be sending out invites as soon as we can.

We look forward to meeting you.

Latest Updates: June Edition Part 2 (New Purchase Order Requisitions Feature & General Improvements)

Our latest release is about to go live, and we are proud to announce another major feature to make the managing of your business run even more smoothly and efficiently, along with several service and functionality improvements.

Here are the updates in brief, due for release soon.

New Features

New Purchase Order Requisitions Feature

This feature has been designed to save you a huge amount of time when raising your purchase orders. We have added a new ‘Requisitions’ tab to the ‘Purchase Orders’ page.

Where previously, you would have to access the page for each of your suppliers to raise a Purchase Order, the Requisitions feature will allow you to do it all from a single page, all calculated from your current levels of stock.

The page can be split by supplier or warehouse, and will suggest which products you need, recommends the required quantities for each of those products. If you receive an order which would put one or more of your products out of stock, a requisition would be raised to order more of that product.

Each purchase order raised by this feature is a fully adjustable draft, and will require your verification before it will be sent off to your suppliers. At StoreFeeder, we will never automatically send a purchase order without your permission.

Knowledgebase: Purchase Order Requisitions in StoreFeeder

API Improvements

You can now create multiple warehouse zones through the rest API.

For more information, see our API documentation.

Dashboard Improvements

By request, and to better display your sales analytics, the dashboard graphs now have a drop-down box allowing you to view your sales by revenue or units sold.

UK Mail Consignment Types

Along with Domestic, we now support ‘International’ and ‘UK Mail Packet Service’ consignment types.

Our mission statement here at StoreFeeder is to let our clients sell more, and work less. If you have any suggestions as to how we can continue to do this for you, please leave your comments on our UserVoice page.

If you are not a StoreFeeder customer and are considering joining us, or you are just interested in the service we provide, please get in touch at hello@storefeeder.com or visit our website.

Latest Updates: June Edition (Feature trials, data filtering improvements)

StoreFeeder’s software is ever evolving to better accommodate the needs of our clients and their businesses.

We will be rolling out some exciting new features over the coming months, so please watch this space.

Below are the brief descriptions of the newest updates to StoreFeeder for June, due for release 14/06/17

New features

Feature Trial – Consolidated Picking

We are currently undergoing early access trials for our new Consolidated Picking Feature with a select group of clients before it is made available to all.

This time-saving feature allows your orders to be split across totes ready for quicker and more efficient picking and packing. With this feature, you can choose to consolidate your picking by pickwave or individual orders.

With this feature, you will be able to get a list of products you need, rather than a list of orders. When active, this feature will also produce newly designed picking and packing notes.

To familiarise yourself with the feature, see this knowledgebase: Consolidated Picking in StoreFeeder

Watch this space for an update on this feature and its availability.

Confirmed by Supplier button on Purchase Order Page

A new button has been added to allow you to mark your purchase orders in ‘Awaiting Confirmation’ status as ‘Confirmed by Supplier’.

Please note that this button will not be available if the purchase order in is any status other than ‘Awaiting Confirmation’.

Shopify Variant Products

We have improved the way variant product listings are displayed in Shopify. Listings will now be uploaded in order according to their ‘variant attributes’ that you set. This way, your customers will be able to view your listings in exactly the order you would like them to be seen.

You can view these values in (‘Products‘>’Product Attribute Manager‘)

New Supplier Postcode Validation

As a security measure and to prevent errors, Postcode validation is now used when adding a new supplier.

More columns for data filtering

By UserVoice request, we have added a variwety of additional optional columns. To add these columns, visit the page specified and select the columns you require from the filtering tool drop down boxes as shown:

Picker Productivity Report

Added the following columns: ‘Despatch Time’, ‘Total items’, ‘Time taken’, ‘Average time per order’, and ‘Average time per item’.

Picking Sheet

Added optional ‘Brand’ column.

Returns Report

Added two new optional columns, ‘Returned to inventory’ and ‘Returned by’.

Manage Orders Page

Added ‘Shipping company’ optional column.

Latest Updates: May Edition Part 3 (Parent Order Returns, Designated Pickers, Country Specific VAT Numbers, Pickwave Improvements, Bug Fixes)

We understand how integral StoreFeeder can be to the day-to-day operation of our clients’ businesses, so our most recent update has focussed on improvements and fixes based on your feedback.

We are continuing to develop the service we offer, shaping and tweaking StoreFeeder to be as user-friendly and intuitive as possible.

Here is the rundown of the last set of updates for May:

Functionality Improvements

Parent Order Returns

When returning an order on your ‘View Orders’ page, the return line used to replace the order line.

Now, a new ‘child’ line will be created underneath for each return, so you can view the original order, and any returns, in an easier and more intuitive manner.

This also means that multiple returns will be supported per order, with the details of numbers of stock returned clearly visible on each child line.

New Purchase order Status

For better control over your ordering process, we have added the option to mark Purchase Orders as ‘Confirmed by supplier’

Improved user status: Designated Pickers

In your General User Information page in your StoreFeeder settings, we have added a toggle to mark your users as Designated Pickers. This way, your designated pickers will appear in alphabetical order on the top of the list when assigning a picker to your pickwaves.

All users will be automatically marked designated pickers, so you will need to manually turn this option off for your other users. You will still be able to select non-designated pickers from the bottom of the list.

Note that this only apply to admins. For non admin users, the picker is automatically defaults to that person.

CC option for email notifications

We have added a field ‘Email CC’ on the customer information page, so copies of any email communication to the customer will be sent to any additional email addresses you specify.

Country Specific Vat Numbers

In your company identity settings, we have added the option to add Country Specific Vat Numbers which will automatically be applied to any orders you send to those countries.

Please note that when you sell your products to EU countries, there are specific monetary thresholds over which you must declare tax in that country.

Knowledgebase: Country Specific Vat Numbers

HMRC: VAT: how to report your EU sales

Improved Pickwave page

By request, we have added additional details to the pickwave page:

  • A ‘live’ status showing how many orders are despatched at the point of viewing
  • An extra field to display the despatched orders in the pickwave
  • Despatched orders / order totals are now displayed on the Picking page

Greater Rest API Functionality

You can now create orders, up to a maximum of 5 at a time, directly via the rest API.

Click here for our API Documentation

Postcode for eBay proximity Searches

In accordance with eBay’s listing specifications, your postcode is now used in addition to your city for your eBay listings. This is to improve eBay’s proximity searches, as customers are more likely to be shown listings from retailers closer to their location.

The potcode used is your integration postcode, and not that of the product warehouse. Please note that your postcode data is never made customer visible within eBay, and appears only as part of your return address labels.

Bug Fixes

Fixed a bug that caused some products in ‘awaiting return’ status to be incorrectly marked as ‘returned’.

Fixed a bug that allowed some users to create Purchase Orders when they did not have the correct user permissions.

Fixed a rare bug where the order status ‘awaiting return’ was incorrectly adding stock back into some inventories.

Fixed a bug where the ‘Stock take by pick bin’ report was displaying total stock as opposed to stock by location, and fixed some currency symbol formatting errors.

Your feedback is valuable to us, and allows us to tailor our service to better serve your business. Get in touch at https://storefeeder.uservoice.com/ to let us know what you think.

Picker Productivity report

By popular request, this new report allows you to choose a picker, and will show you how many orders are picked, their average despatch time, and average number of orders picked per day.

Note that you will need to add permissions in your user settings in order to view this report.

Functionality Improvements

Despatched Order Email Settings

We have included two new sub-options on the ‘Email Settings’ page, which allow you to send notification emails to your customers when your orders reach ‘Shipped by Supplier’ and/or ‘Shipped by Amazon’ status.

Knowledgebase: Email Settings

Purchase Orders

Additional information is now visible when raising a purchase order, including ‘Product Special Attribute’.

Orders Overview

‘Order Tax’ is now a filterable field on the Orders and Picking grids, so you can filter international orders from domestic orders by tax class.

On the ‘Listings Overview’ page, you can choose to export all of your listings at once, rather than being limited to a maximum of 500, as with products.

Proof of Delivery for Royal Mail Online Business Account holders

To prove you have despatched your orders through Royal Mail, ‘Manifest Number’ and ‘Manifested On’ data will now be visible in the ‘Order Process Details’ section when you view or edit an order.

This will provide you with a link to the correct manifest so you can reproduce the manifest paperwork. This combined with a screenshot of your ‘Order Process Details’ on the  should be enough information to prove postage.

Manage Products Page

‘Warehouse Zone’ has been added as an optional filterable field for products, so you can filter your products and group them by their physical location.

That’s it for May’s updates. Please keep checking the blog for more features, and remember to use our Uservoice Service to request any more changes we can make for you.

Thank you to all our clients.

Feature Update: Delivery Confirmation and Courier File Exports

Continuing with our pledge to provide the best possible service for our clients, we are pleased to announce two new features to enhance the delivery process for your orders.

Delivery Confirmation

For our clients with Royal Mail OBA accounts, any parcels you send via Royal Mail are now eligible for Delivery Confirmation. You can find the Delivery Confirmation number along with the 2D barcodes on your printed labels.

Additionally, the number can also be found on your ‘Order Details’ page in the ‘Tracking Number’ field and the ‘Order Shipping’ tab as a link after your have updated your order tracking information.

This number can be entered into the Track and Trace webpage, and will inform you of when your parcel has been scanned upon delivery.

We also now support Type-3 Preadvice, meaning SMS and email delivery notifications are now supported for eligible Royal Mail tracked and signed services such as Tracked24 and 48.

If you have phone number and email addresses saved alongside your customers, they will receive these notifications automatically.

Royal Mail Track and Trace

Courier File Exports

For our clients who ship products with other couriers, we have made important changes to courier file exports.

From our next release date of May 17th and onwards, we will be changing the way we process Courier File Exports as requested in our User Voice forum.

Based on customer feedback, and to make the process more logical and user friendly, we have changed the process so the selectable date range is for pickwave creation date rather than order creation date.

This has been done to be more representative of what you are manifesting on that day, and to remove confusion. As a result of this change, you will now be unable to process unassigned orders in this way. All orders manifested in this way must now be processed in pickwaves.

For more information, and for instructions on how to use the new feature, please see our knowledgebase:

Knowledgebase: Courier File Exports

Look out for further updates coming soon, as we announce a new marketplace integration along with the second part of our usual monthly updates.

Happy retailing!
