Latest Release Updates – May 2018

The latest release is a little less detailed than normal as we have been very busy working on GDPR and the Development Team’s work is now gearing up on the new V3 of StoreFeeder

Here are a few of the latest updates in StoreFeeder this month

GDPR is on the horizon..

The GDPR act will be enforceable from May 25th 2018. There will be many changes coming into force from that date. StoreFeeder will be implementing some new security procedures around logging in to your account.

The first of which will be Cookie Notification and Marketing preference pop ups, on first login after these changes go live they will be presented to you.

The cookies are used for performance purposes only so they are required for StoreFeeder to function.  The marketing preferences are all “opt in” choices so please read them and ensure you understand.

The 2nd change you are going to see is identity verification when contacting us over the phone.  While we are happy to talk to you about generic issues without confirming who you are, if at any point the conversation turns to account specifics we will ask you to identify yourself.  This will be done with a single click within StoreFeeder so please try to ensure you are logged into your account beforehand if you require account specific help.

Our support team will be able to walk you through the process until you have had the chance to see it for yourself.

For more info on where we are with GDPR currently please see the statement on our website http://storefeeder.com/Company/GDPR

Royal Mail Delivery Confirmation Numbers to eBay

We can now update orders on eBay with the Royal Mail Delivery Confirmation number that is generated for standard Royal Mail 24 and 48 items

eBay were previously blocking us from uploading these numbers due to issues with their internal monitoring of tracking numbers which is now resolved

Improvements to Pickwave Information

You can now see who created Pickwaves in the Open and Completed Pickwave tabs to improve traceability of orders through the warehouse

New Supplier Reference Column

We have added a column in the supplier information. Whereas previously there was a column that contains your reference for your client, there is now a column where you can include your Suppliers’s reference for you.

DPD extended liability

We have given you the option to extend the liability level to up to £5000 of cover on items sent via DPD.

Pickwave filter improvement

We have added a filter on the pickwave page that will not show channels past their pick and despatch deadline. A sort of anti-filter if you like. For example first thing most clients want to prioritise a service like prime. Later in the day other despatch methods become a priority so prime could be filtered out.

And finally….

To enable better guidance on margin our pricing records are now recording that last cost price paid.

As always, if you have any suggestions for improvements or further ways in which we can benefit your business, we would love to hear from you.

Latest Release Updates: April 2018

We’ve had another busy 3 weeks here at StoreFeeder. This release has focused mainly on behind the scenes developments in preparation for V3 of StoreFeeder, on improvements to the StoreFeeder Rest API and work to improve the StoreFeeder App which is used in conjunction with our PDA’s on the WMS, so you may not spot too many changes following this release.

There are a few things to look out for though

Improvements to Shipping Rules

With delivery companies collecting from you premises at different times during the day, you may now use the shipping rules to factor in the time and day of the order and assign a shipping method for a service that has not yet been collected by the carrier.

This enhancement will be very useful where users wish to utilise Saturday deliveries for all orders that come in on a Friday for example.

Improved Reporting on Top Selling Products

We have now added “Sold in Last 7 Days” as a filterable option on the Top Selling Products section on the dashboard

If a product is selling well or you have a promotion running, you need to react quickly to order more stock, so the Sold in Last 7 days will give you a live view of what is selling well in the past week

Lastly, StoreFeeder were at the Internet Retailing Expo 2018 at the NEC late last month. We had a great time meeting existing and new customers alike. Here is a picture of the team on the stand!

As always, if you have any suggestions for improvements or further ways in which we can benefit your business, we would love to hear from you.

StoreFeeder Releases Pricing Profiles

A new year brings further new features from StoreFeeder. Due to changing markets and the increasing need to manage margins, StoreFeeder have released pricing profiles to their enterprise customers.

This feature offers retailers the ability to automatically control their pricing in channel or on a marketplace, giving shop owners peace of mind that profits will be maintained despite fluctuations in the marketplace that are beyond their control.

What is pricing profiles?

Pricing profiles allows shop owners to create a formula using a set of predefined tokens. Pricing profiles can then be linked to listings and a dynamic price will be calculated in accordance with your margin expectation. Anytime that a token changes the price will be recalculated. For example; this will help merchants when a supplier feed updates the cost price of a product. As supplier costs can be one of the tokens assigned to pricing profiles, the listing price will be automatically updated.

Pricing Profiles by StoreFeeder

Token examples for StoreFeeder Pricing Profiles

Merchants who use the StoreFeeder platform will have the ability to set their tokens, they can range from currency exchange rates, to cost price, shipping costs, discounts, channel charges and VAT or tax setting. As with all StoreFeeder features this one has been designed with the shop owner in mind. No two business are the same and StoreFeeder have taken this into account in the development of this power pricing tool.

How does Pricing Profiles work?

This feature works via a collection of tokens that can be combined to create a formula that can be applied to products. You can set your tokens which gives flexibility and when setting the pricing for your products you can also use ‘if statements’ to adjust pricing to within your preferred parameters. StoreFeeder has also included a selection of template formulas that subscribers can customise to suit their specific pricing strategy.

Competitive Edge

Pricing profiles can also work within channel. Channels can have a default pricing profile set. This will be selected automatically when creating new listings. Ebay default values can also be set up to have a pricing profile selected.

This means that merchants will be able to set up pricing profiles via an account feature. All StoreFeeder enterprise accounts will automatically get access to this feature, other accounts can have this feature added to their current plan.

Pricing Profiles fulfils the wishes of merchants across the globe. It enables automated control over the single most important aspect of commerce: Margin. StoreFeeder has created a tool that again will enable merchants to focus on the business of trade whilst the details of pricing fluctuations is dealt with.

Latest Updates – Late February Edition

We’ve had a busy week here preparing for some new features into StoreFeeder.  Most of what we have been doing are “under the bonnet” improvements and preparation for some new exciting features you’ll find out about soon.  So this week’s blog will be somewhat short and sweet.

Print Assist Settings

We have made changes to the way your Print Assist settings are being stored to reintroduce the intended functionality to save your preferences per PC instead of for all PCs you log into.  We now have a different method of doing this that shouldn’t be affected by browser security settings.

This brings with it a few limitations:

  • This method is incompatible with Private\Incognito browsing
  • It is browser specific so if you use different browsers you will need to set up your preferences for each independently
  • If you have a limited or locked down account on your PC then we may not have the required privileges to write\read the data
  • As with clearing cache and cookies, if you clear your browsing data the setting will be lost and need setting up fresh

So you may find on first login to a new PC that you need to set up your printers again but other than that you shouldn’t notice any changes in functionality.

Edit Order page – Optionally adjust totals when changing Shipping Method

We recognise the need that you may want to upgrade a customers shipping free of charge as a sign of good faith or for loyal repeat customers.  So we have added a new option to the edit order page

This will only appear on orders that haven’t been despatched.  The default will be to keep order totals the same.  If you wish to increase or decrease to match the shipping method then you will need to tick the box before changing.

API changes

There will be some changes to the StoreFeeder REST API that will follow in the next day or 2 with improvements to Product creation and Product Supplier creation.  These changes do not need any amendments to your code and should be transparent.

If you have any suggestions for improvements or further ways in which we can benefit your business, we would love to hear from you.

Latest Updates: January Edition

We hope you all had a good and productive Christmas and New Year.

Here at StoreFeeder we’ve been busy adding some great new features we think will be a great help for our customers

New features

The following are due for release on 10/01/18.

Tracked Returns

Our newest feature is something we’ve been asked about by a lot of you and it’s now possible to generate tracked returns labels from within StoreFeeder using your Direct Royal Mail courier integration.  Orders don’t have to have been sent out be Royal Mail to be applicable they just need to have been manifested if Royal Mail or Despatched for other couriers.

To generate a tracked return label for an order all you need do is go to the “Order Shipping” tab of the order and click “Get Returns Label”

Your label will be then be generated. From here you will have multiple options of how to handle the label. You can save this to your device and send it via email directly to your customer, or you can print a tracked label to send with your order, so your customer will have the paperwork already prepared should they need to return the product to you.

For more information, see Knowledgebase: How to Generate Tracked Returns Labels.

Editing Purchase Orders

We understand that sometimes when making Purchase Orders that your suppliers prices and tax rate may change between the time that you make the order and the time that you get the goods.  We now allow you to amend these values if you are an Admin on your account.  While logged in as an admin user, the edit purchase order page will have a button labelled “Amend Purchase Order,” which will re-enable the ordered products grid when clicked, and allow updates to the purchase order. The totals will be recalculated on save.

Added a higher resolution preview for images

We have been told by some of our customers that it can be hard to tell variants images apart when mapping them up from the image thumbnails.  On the product and listing pages if you now hover over the image a larger high resolution popup will appear to make this much easier for you.

Email customer an invoice from the order page

To save you time we have now added the ability to email the customer directly from the order page.  You will need to create an “Invoice Email” template and ensure that invoice is the attachment.  Then when you click the “Email Invoice” button on the order page, the standard email window will pop up with all details pre-populated and you can amend if required

FBA Indicator on Listings

To make it easier to determine which of your variants have been set to FBA we have added a new column to the variant table so now you don’t have to go into the cog to check

Update multiple rows on the order lines

To make it easier to update multiple order lines we have now added an “Update Multiple” bulk action.  Rather than having to update each line separately and click the update link you can now update as many as you need to and if you tick the box on the left and side you can choose “Update Multiple” from the dropdown and hit confirm.  This will make all of the updates in a single step with should save you a lot of time.

Add all Product Notes fields to Product export

We have now added the ability to import and export product notes. This will allow you to set things like despatch notes in bulk for all of your products.  You can do this by following exactly the same process as any other product import export

Knowledgebase: How to use the Product Import/Export Feature

If you have any suggestions for improvements or further ways in which we can benefit your business, we would love to hear from you.

Latest Updates: November Edition (Paper-free Invoices, Print Assist & more)

This month our developers have been hard at work building in improvements to our service, and performing maintenance to help keep StoreFeeder running as smoothly and efficiently as possible.

This include refinements in our code and processes in preparation for the next feature releases in the new year. Keep an eye on the blog and user messages for further updates as they come.

Here are the feature and service improvements due for release Wednesday 15th November.

Packer productivity report

By popular demand, we will be releasing some of the new reporting first demoed to customers who attended our StoreFeeder sessions event in October.

You find this report in ‘Reports’>’Products’, and it will provide statistics on average despatch times, average orders per despatch, and average order totals per team, or per individual packer.

The Packer Productivity report will be available for all customers who already have Picker Productivity reports enabled.

Print Assist reminder

We have had great success with our Print Assist feature, which allows for instant and automatic document printing in StoreFeeder.

This is an account specific feature, so please contact our support teams if you wish to discuss adding Print Assist to your account.

For more information, see our knowledgebases on how to install and set up the client, and how to enable and use Print Assist.

New Improvements

Royal Mail special delivery instructions

In the Courier API Settings section, type ‘true’ in the Show Special Instructions field if you wish for your special instructions to be printed on the label, or type ‘false’ or leave the field blank if you do not.

For more information on setting up your direct Royal Mail integration, see this knowledgebase: Setting up a Royal Mail Direct Integration

We have added an additional ‘Hazardous goods information’ section to the ‘Product additional informationtab, for when a product requires special care or attention.

Included is a checkbox to mark your product as hazardous, and fields to enter additional codes and information.

For our customers who ship with Parcelforce, this information will appear on your printed labels
